Christian cross, 'The Truth Within' (rose)

This powerful beadwork cross represents the merger of two spiritual traditions. For the Association of Huichol Youths, the christian cross symbolizes the five directions one can take in life including north, south, east or west. The fifth direction, represented by a peyote flower, is that of introspection - the search for the truth within. The artisans use a natural adhesive made of bee's wax and apply each chaquira bead by hand. To prevent the wax from melting, please keep the cross away from the sun or any source of heat.
